What is SMC?

SMC has partnered with Scholastic Trust Singapore Teachers’ Institute (STSTI) to design and develop Singapore Math Competition as well as training for teachers on how to use Formative and Summative Assessment data to understand/analyse the students’ misconceptions about mathematics and plan lessons to rectify these misconceptions.

Singapore’s mathematics syllabus was developed after studying the mathematics syllables across the globe.

Eligibility for SMC

Students from Grades 1 to 10/11 are eligible to participate in SMC. Different exam papers are designed according to the student’s academic level, ensuring age-appropriate challenges and fair competition.

Top 8% students will receive Exemplary Award
Next 12% students will receive Outstanding Award

Students who have scored Full Marks will be awarded a Perfect Score Award
The top 50% of the participants will receive an award certificate
The top 40% of winners will be invited to compete at the SINGAPORE MATH Global Finals
