The Unicus Non-Routine Mathematics Olympiad (UNRMO) is an international competitive exam conducted online and offline (pen/paper) for students from class 3 to class 10.

How to participate

Key points for the exam:

  • Unicus Olympiads is a Summer Olympiad focussing on assessing the students on the basis of what he/she has studied in the last 2 classes.
  • Unicus Olympiads conducts examination in online mode only through laptop or desktop. The students can appear from the exam from their house or place with access to computer and good Internet connectivity (2 Mbps) and latest version of the browser (preferably Google Chrome). If schools have registered for for online mode of exam, then school may decide to conduct the exams at their premises.
  • Students cannot use Mobile device to take the online exam.
  • Webcam is compulsory on every laptop/desktop as exam is protracted.

Fees for class 3 to 10 is as below:

  • Level 1: free of cost
  • Level 2
    1. Indian Students: INR 300 per student
    2. International Students: USD $20 per student.

Marking schemes is as below:

This exam will conducted in two levels.

  • Level 1: This exam is simpler than NMTC – National Mathematics Talent Contest.
  • Level 2: first 55.56% of students will qualify for Level 2 and students will be eligible for merit certificates, medals and trophies. This exam is similar to NMTC.

Duration of exam is 60 minutes from Class 3 to Class 10.

For every incorrect answer, there will be negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks allotted for that question. The marking scheme for Level 1 and Level 2 exams is same.

Ranking criteria

Ranking criteria is as below for Class 3 to Class 10

  • Total marks achieved in the exam.
  • If two or more students score same total marks then criteria for determining the ranks is as below:
    1. the student completing the test in lesser time will be ranked higher.
    2. the younger student based on Date of Birth will be ranked higher.
  • Final ranks shall be determine and announced based on normalization of the ranks for each session.
  • In case two or more students score same marks under the criteria’s mentioned above, they will be awarded the same rank.
  • Decision of the Academic Council will be final & binding.
