What is the syllabus for CREST CSB?
The CSB syllabus is class-specific and primarily focuses on spelling and vocabulary. It includes sections such as Spell-o-Spell, Word Connection, Mingle-Mangle, PictureSpeak, Word Cookie, Word Chain, Word Makeup, Word Melody, Word Ensemble, Mathlish, and Rapid Fire, depending on the class. For most classes, around 80% of Level 1 questions are based on the prescribed word list. For Classes 7–8, the word list is based on High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren & Martin.
Is there a Level 2 in CREST CSB?
Yes. CREST CSB is conducted in two levels for students from Senior KG to Class 8. Students who qualify in Level 1 can appear for Level 2. CREST does not provide a separate Level 2 word list, as the second level is intended to challenge students with their broader spelling and vocabulary skills.
How are CREST CSB rankings decided?
CREST CSB rankings are primarily based on marks obtained in the exam. If students obtain the same marks, rankings are determined first by their Level 1 marks, followed by lesser exam completion time, and then by age, with the younger student ranked higher.
